Police seize car and knife in undercover operation

Police recently seized a vehicle, lock knife and drugs as part of an undercover operation to tackle street crime in Torquay.
Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Stop searches have been carried out with the aim of seizing drugs, dangerous weapons and to gather intelligence in an effort to disrupt people looking to commit crime."
Insp Chris Lithgow, who leads the neighbourhood team in Torquay, said: “Operations like these are the bread and butter of policing."
He added the operation, which involved officers wearing plain clothes, was not a one-off.
The force said the operation resulted in five arrests and a further arrest was made after officers received information from a member of the public.
Insp Lithgow said: "It means we can target people responsible for anti-social behaviour and drug offences on our streets without them being aware that our officers are there to prevent and stop crimes from happening.”
