Third man who escaped from hospital is found

A man who escaped from a psychiatric hospital in south-west London has been located, the Met police has said.

Adil Maxamed, 20, absconded from Springfield Hospital at around 22:10 BST on Friday with two other men.

He is being held under the Mental Health Act.

Mr Maxamed was located on Sunday in Earlsfield and has been returned to the hospital.

Two patients already located

The police investigation to locate and detain the men was led by CID officers.

One was detained around three hours after the incident and the second man was detained in the Clapham Junction area on Saturday.

The Met said police and partner agencies worked together to locate them.

Det Insp Jack Lyle said: “I would like to thank the public for their vigilance and assistance following our public appeals.”
