A football club's charity tins have been stolen in a break-in, along with other items including alcohol and sweets.
South Shields FC said its premises on Shaftesbury Avenue in the town were broken into in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
A post on the club's Facebook page said: "The perpetrator targeted the club, stealing cash from children's charity tins, bottles of spirits, kids' sweets, and items from the vending machine."
Northumbria Police confirmed it was investigating.
A force spokesman said: "It was reported that an offender had forced entry to the property overnight causing damage, before stealing items including alcohol and money.
"They have then fled the area. Inquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police."
The club said it was offering a reward to anyone able to provide information leading to an arrest.
