A boat that was drifting towards rocks off Sark has been towed to Guernsey by a lifeboat.

The skipper of the 6.4m (21ft) motorboat radioed Guernsey Coastguard at 15:30 GMT on Sunday and reported issues with the propeller.

The skipper said they were alone and drifting slowly towards rocks south west of Havre Gosselin near Brecqhou.

The lifeboat, Spirit of Guernsey, launched at 16:05 and towed the vessel to St Peter Port.

Guernsey Coastguard said: "The lifeboat arrived on scene at 16:28 and was able to attach a tow rope to the stricken vessel.

"The casualty was towed safely back to St Peter Port arriving just before 17:20."
