Suspected explosive removed from Dartmoor woodland

A bomb disposal team removed a suspected explosive weapon found on Dartmoor.
Devon and Cornwall Police said it received reports a possible explosive had been located in Butterdon Wood, near Moretonhampstead, at about 13:05 BST on Tuesday.
Police said the item was believed to be a mortar round and a 100m (328ft) cordon was set up while it was removed by a Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal team.
A navy spokesperson said the device was removed and disposed of safely.
