A man has died in a crash involving two motorcycle sidecar vehicles at a racetrack in Kent.

The crash happened on a track off Digdog Lane in Frittenden, near Cranbrook, at about 18:10 BST on Sunday.

A 24-year-old man, from Cornwall, died in the crash, which happened during a racing competition, and his next of kin have been informed, police said.

The Auto Cycle Union (ACU) said a competitor in a race died at a motorcycle GTSA Grasstrack racing event.

An ACU spokesman said: “There is an ongoing investigation into the circumstances and the family have requested that no footage or pictures of the accident are posted onto social media or sent to them directly.

“They thank the Grasstrack community for their support and ask that they are given anonymity and privacy.

“The ACU and GTSA Club Committee send its sincere condolences to the family at this difficult time.”

Kent Police have urged spectators who have phone footage of the crash or the moments leading up to it to contact them.
