Cyclist seriously injured in HGV collision

A cyclist has been seriously injured after being struck by a HGV in Goldthorpe.
South Yorkshire Police said a blue HGV Tipper was travelling on Doncaster Road near the junction of Dearne Valley Parkway when it was involved in a collision with the cyclist at 11:47 BST on Thursday.
Officers said the 53-year-old male cyclist was taken to hospital but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
The driver of the HGV remained at the scene, the force added.
Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or had dashcam footage which could help the investigation to contact them.
