A man has appeared in court charged with the sexual assault of a woman in Londonderry at the weekend.
Emmett Deehan, 32, of no fixed abode, appeared via videolink at Londonderry Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
He is charged with sexual assault and grievous bodily harm.
Previously, police said a woman in her 50s sustained serious facial injuries during a sexual assault in the Lecky Road area of the city in the early hours of Sunday.

The accused only spoke to confirm his name and date of birth and when asked if he understood the charges, he replied: "Yes."
A police officer told the court he believed he could connect the defendant to the charges.
A solicitor for the accused said the primary evidence in the case at this stage was doorbell camera footage.
The solicitor said his client denied being the person in that footage and that forensic evidence would be "paramount in establishing guilt in this case".
He added it may be "some time" before that evidence would be available.
The lawyer said no application for bail was being made at this stage as a suitable address was currently not available, the court heard.
Mr Deehan was remanded in custody to appear in court again next month.
