Lincoln Castle's walls will be lit up as part of a Christmas light spectacle this winter.

Lincolnshire County Council said the annual event will this year take place from 21 November and will include the addition of an ice palace.

Displays will include giant, illuminated letters spelling out the city's name, Christmas trees, a Christmas Express ride, traditional fairground rides and food and drink stalls.

The event will run every Wednesday to Sunday through to 23 December with gates opening weekday evenings at 17:30 GMT and16:00 on weekends, and closing at 21:00.

Visitors can take part in the wall walk which looks out at the city and will be lit up with 38,000 individual lights.

Dog-friendly nights will be held on 26 November and 3, 10 and 17 December.
