Firefighters have dealt with a blaze in the roof of a flat believed to have been caused by a lightning strike.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) was called to reports of a flat on fire in Childs Crescent, Swanscombe, at 02:16 BST on Sunday.

Two fire engines and the volunteer response team attended and extinguished the flames.

“There were no reported injuries and the cause is believed to be accidental and due to a lightning strike,” a spokesman said.
