Two teenage girls have been punched in a town centre after declining a man's attempt to speak to them.

The girls told police that a man in his early 20s approached them at about 22:30 BST in Lowestoft, Suffolk, on Sunday, and asked one of them for her social media profile information.

Both were checked over by paramedics after being punched in the head near the junction of London Road North and Gordon Road, with one left with a bloodied nose.

The man was described as wearing a black tracksuit and as being skinny, about 5ft 6in tall, with a beard and with blonde, curly hair.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
