Three men have been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman in a Hull park.

Humberside Police say they received a call at about 05:20 BST on Tuesday, reporting that a woman could be heard in distress at West Park in Hull. This was followed by a second call to police 30 seconds later, reporting that a woman had been raped by three men who allegedly fled the scene in a silver Volkswagen Golf.

Two 26-year-old men and a 27-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of rape and remain in police custody.

Leading the investigation, Det Insp Adrian Adamson, said: "I hope the news of these arrests reassures the public that we have been and continue to treat this investigation as a priority."

A 43-year-old man who was also arrested on suspicion of rape has since been released without charge.

Det Insp Adamson said: "We've been carrying out extensive lines of enquiry, including reviewing CCTV footage in and around the area to identify the vehicle concerned."

Police are asking anyone who has any information, CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident, to get in touch with them by calling non-emergency number 101.
