Movie buffs will be in their element when a special event with memorabilia from some of the biggest films to ever grace the silver screen comes to Suffolk.

The Art of Cinema exhibit will form part of the annual Sci-Fi and Action Exhibition at Moyse's Hall Museum in Bury St Edmunds this weekend.

The "exciting" bonus display will feature official items used in film franchises such as Batman, James Bond, and The Lord of the Rings, including costumes and props.

The exhibition, in collaboration with Kudos Memorabilia, opens on Saturday and will run at the West Suffolk Council-run museum until 22 February.

Ian Shipp, cabinet member for leisure at the council, said: "We recognise the importance of leisure and culture in West Suffolk.

"Our Sci-Fi and Action Exhibition is a popular feature on our events calendar, attracting people of all ages from across West Suffolk and beyond.

"This year's event is shaping up to be even better both for families enjoying a day out and for the serious film fans. We can't wait to welcome people from this weekend."

Some of the items on display will include Ana de Armas' hero dress from No Time to Die and the cowboy ensemble worn by Kevin Costner in Yellowstone.

The Crown's Princess Diana Revenge Dress and on-screen pieces used by Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Christian Bale, and Chris Pine also feature.

One of the main draws will be the "rare" chance to see the iconic Batman cowl that was worn by Michael Keaton for Tim Burton's 1989 version of the Caped Crusader.

"We expect strong interest from enthusiasts of Tim Burton's film, DC Comics, and superhero culture," said Stephen Rivers, director of Kudos Memorabilia.

"But this exhibition goes far beyond Gotham — with remarkable costumes and props from iconic film and TV franchises.

"We're delighted to partner with West Suffolk Council and the team at Moyse's Hall Museum to bring this wonderful celebration of cinema to life."

Elsewhere in the exhibit, film fans will be able to catch a glimpse of a blaster and a stormtrooper helmet from Star Wars, and items from Star Trek and The Terminator.

There will also be a strong focus on The Lord of the Rings in celebration of its 70th anniversary, and Steven Spielberg's iconic Jaws, which turned 50 this year.

"We're excited to share these iconic pieces of cinematic history," added Mr Rivers.
