A fire has swept through a large building on a farm causing its roof to collapse.

The fire broke out at Rickfield Farm, Milcombe near Banbury, Oxfordshire on Thursday shortly before 20:30 GMT.

Over 40 firefighters fought the fire overnight in the building used by several businesses including furniture restoration and storage.

People living nearby have been urged to keep their windows and doors closed.

Firefights were only able to fight the fire from outside the builing as the roof had collapsed

Oxfordshire County Council said: "It was a really challenging incident due to needing large amounts of water... made more difficult by the roof entirely collapsing meaning we were only able to fight the fire from outside the building."

There have been no reports of any injuries.

Firefighters are expected to remain at the farm in the village throughout Friday.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is expected to start when it is fully extinguished.
