New train station sees cycleways introduced

The project has been paid for via the Active Travel Fund through the Department for Transport

Work is set to begin on a cycle scheme linking Walsall with Wolverhampton.
The project, starting this week, will see a 1.2km segregated cycleway and walking path link Pinson Road and the Rose Hill/Bilston Lane junction in Willenhall.
Temporary traffic management arrangements will be linked to the works for the Noose Lane to Pinson Road cycle scheme, and the associated road works for the forthcoming Willenhall Railway Station.
Councillor Adrian Andrew, deputy leader of Walsall Council, said: "With the construction of the new Willenhall Station, now is the right time to increase accessibility in Willenhall for local people.
"This scheme, along with the other transport schemes currently being delivered in Willenhall, will help make cycling more direct, safe and attractive.
"Improving our connectivity across the borough and the wider Black Country means more opportunities for local people to travel for work and leisure."
Willenhall will be one of two new stations on the Walsall to Wolverhampton line, with the other being at Darlaston, in an £85m project.
The cycleway project has been paid for via the Active Travel Fund through the Department for Transport.
The latest traffic managements in the area include: a temporary one-way system on B4464 Somerford Place, New Road Bilston Street and Rose Hill; a 24-hour lane closure for westbound traffic along New Road; eastbound traffic being diverted along A454/Bilston Lane/Rose Hill towards Dale Island.
