Firefighters have managed to bring a "large fire" on an industrial estate under control.
Essex Fire & Rescue Service said it was called to reports of large building on fire at Stambridge, near Rochford, at midday on Sunday.
It said a number of industrial units were affected, across an area of 100m x 50m.
Nearby residents are being warned to close their windows and doors due to the amount of smoke being produced.
At its height, 60 firefighters worked to put out the fire and protect any unaffected units.
Witnesses claimed smoke could be seen from Canvey and Burnham-on-Crouch.
The fire service said the fire was brought under control by 15:30.
