The rider of an off-road motorbike has died after a collision with a pick-up truck in Pontefract.

Grant Watson, 29, was taken to hospital with serious injuries after the crash on 21 June but later died, police said.

Officers said he was riding an orange and black KTM off-road motorcycle when it was in a collision with a blue Mitsubishi L200 on Field Lane, Upton, at the junction with Pennine View at 11:49 BST.

His family described him as a "beloved son, grandson, brother, and father".

In a statement, they added he had died in Leeds General Infirmary on Sunday.

He would be "deeply missed and forever loved," they added.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or have CCTV or dashcam footage to get in touch.
