A car driver in her 60s has died in a collision with a lorry on a main road in Cornwall.

The A38 at Notter near Saltash, was closed in both directions after the crash at about 09:30 BST, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

"The driver of the car sustained fatal injuries as a result of the incident and was pronounced deceased at the scene," police said. Her next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured, the force added.

The road between Carkeel and Trerulefoot has now reopened in both directions, National Highways South West said on X, formerly Twitter., external

Police had advised motorists to "avoid the area".
