Strong winds warning as Storm Isha arrives
- Published
Strong winds from Storm Isha are expected to bring disruption to much of North Yorkshire and parts of West Yorkshire this weekend.
The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning from 18:00 GMT on Sunday, through to 09:00 GMT on Monday.
The agency said "injuries and danger to life is likely" in coastal areas from large waves and debris from beaches.
It also said there was a "good chance" of power cuts and damage to buildings was "probable".
Disruption to public transport is also expected.
As well as covering almost all of North Yorkshire and northern parts of Bradford and Leeds, the amber warning is also in place for most of Northern Ireland, southern Scotland, western Wales and parts of south-west England.
