M11 reopens after two-vehicle crash

Two people have been taken to hospital and part of the M11 was closed following a serious crash.

One lane of the southbound carriageway between junction six (M25 Interchange) and junction five (Loughton), near Epping in Essex, shut as a result of the two-vehicle collision, National Highways said, external.

The East of England Ambulance Service was called just after 13:40 BST.

National Highways announced the road had reopened fully by 16:40.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle, a rapid response vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene."

"Two patients have been transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow."
