Three teenagers have appeared in court over the death of a man on a beach in Kent.

Alexander Cashford, 49, and from Kent, was found with multiple injuries in the Warden Bay Road area of Leysdown-on-Sea on the Isle of Sheppey, on 10 August.

The children, two boys aged 15 and 16 and a girl aged 16, all from London, denied murder when they appeared at Maidstone Crown Court via a videolink on Thursday.

The teenagers, who cannot be named because of their age, deny the charges.

A six-week trial fixed for 13 January has been moved from Maidstone to Woolwich Crown Court.

The teenagers were remanded in custody in youth detention accommodation ahead of their trial and are due back in court for a case management hearing on 19 December.

The cause of Mr Cashford's death has not yet been confirmed.
