KFC drive-through 24-hour opening approved

The only branch of KFC on the Isle of Man has been given permission for its drive-through to stay open 24 hours a day everyday.
The fast food chain had said it wanted the extension of the opening hours at its Peel Road location to alleviate pressure due to high demand.
But while permission for the drive-through extension was granted, the dining in ours have not been altered and will remain from 10:30 to 00:00 BST to prevent early hours "anti-social behaviour".
The original opening hours were a condition of the chain's planning permission to build the branch, so any variation had to have planning committee approval.
The planning officer who recommended the plans be approved noted that the premises was opposite a 24 hour garage, and near the Isle of Man branch of McDonald's, which was sometimes open all day.
His report said properties in the immediate vicinity were "unlikely to be affected by the additional hours", as they were commercial and it was "not considered to have significant impacts" in the area to cause concern.
But planning committee member Matthew Warren, who was the only one to vote against the application, questioned whether there should be a public health policy about the affects of "eating fried chicken" in early hours of the morning.
However, chairman Rob Callister said that was outside of the remit of the committee.
