A man stopped by police outside a north London train station was found to have been carrying 18 knives, the Met said.
The 23-year-old was arrested on Monday afternoon at Edmonton Green station by specialist crime officers carrying out what the force described as a “proactive operation to crack down on gang-related violence”.
The Met Police added officers discovered he had 18 knives as well as class A and B drugs in a drawstring bag.
The man is in custody and has been charged with possession of offensive weapons and intent to supply drugs.
The force added the knives were "likely" destined for south London gangs.
