Met Office warns of weekend heavy rain and floods

The Channel Island's Met Office is forecasting heavy and persistent rain over the weekend, with potential small-scale flash flooding.
The exact location of the heaviest rain is uncertain, but it could be over or close to the Channel Islands, the Met Office said.
While there could be heavy bursts of rain from early afternoon on Saturday, it said the bulk would fall overnight into Sunday morning.
Both Guernsey's and Jersey's Governments said they had been taking precautions in case the impact was particularly bad.
The States of Guernsey advised residents to take appropriate steps to protect their property, and be aware that the roads could be very wet and visibility limited at times.
Although there was uncertainty about the risk of flooding, the Jersey government has reminded residents, external of how to prepare for floods.
