Coastguard callout as boat gets stuck under bridge

HM Coastguard was called to a vessel stuck under the bridge at St Olaves

Emergency services were called to a Norfolk river on Sunday after a boat became wedged under a bridge.

HM Coastguard attended the incident at St Olaves, near Great Yarmouth, at about 09:15 BST.

The East of England Ambulance Service also went to the scene following reports that a man was injured.

A spokesperson for Gorleston coastguard said everyone on board had been helped off safely and the boat had been moved from the bridge and moored.

Norfolk Police and Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service also attended.

An ambulance service spokesperson said: "Two ambulances and two ambulance officer vehicles were sent to St Olaves this morning following reports of a man injured on a boat.

"One patient was assessed at the scene, but no hospital transport was necessary."
