Planning permission is granted for an artificial cricket pitch at Aston Ingham Cricket Club

Plans have been approved to install an artificial cricket pitch at a sports club in Herefordshire.

The application was made by Aston Ingham Cricket Club Committee for a non-turf cricket pitch with a length of 30 metres and a width of 2.74 metres on Mill Meadow.

Herefordshire Council planning officers said the pitch would not have any highways impact, nor adversely affect the surrounding landscape.

They did, however, recommend a condition that any external lighting be limited as the site was located within an area of so-called dark landscape, which supports nature conservation interests including nocturnal protected species.
