Emergency department reopens after power restored

A major incident declared at a hospital due to a loss of power has been stood down.
The unexpected loss of power at Portsmouth's Queen Alexandra Hospital led to its emergency department closing to new admissions.
The hospital, on Hill Road, Cosham, said power had since been restored to most of the site, allowing the emergency department to reopen.
A small number of procedures had to be cancelled due to the power cut.
Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust said: "We expect to see some delays as services are coming back online so ask for your patience and understanding while our teams work to do this."
The hospital added its phone lines and card readers in car parks were still having some issues with payments for parking on Monday suspended.
Visitors are also welcome to attend the hospital as normal.
