Darts fans look forward to Grand Slam's city return

Final preparations are taking place for the Grand Slam of Darts, which returns to Wolverhampton in November.
The annual event, at WV Active Aldersley from 9 to 17 November, is to feature reigning champion Luke Humphries, three-time champion Michael van Gerwen and Premier League winner 17-year-old Luke Littler.
The city has been its home since 2007, although the then Ricoh Arena in Coventry staged the 2020 tournament behind closed doors due to the Covid pandemic.
This year, some days have sold out and limited tickets remain for weekday sessions.
The Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts begins with a group stage and 32 top stars would compete for the Eric Bristow Trophy, City of Wolverhampton Council said.
It added the event was "great for the city, contributing £3.7m to the local economy every year".
There was "limited parking on site" for each session.
Shuttle buses will run from the city centre to WV Active Aldersley at intervals before each session and return after the sessions.
Council cabinet member for city development, jobs and skills Chris Burden said the PDC (Professional Darts Corporation) was excited to be back and the authority would "work closely with them to make this event a huge success".
