Boy, 17, denies charges after 15-year-old shot

A teenage boy has appeared in court charged with assault and firearms offences, after a 15-year-old boy was shot in Cardiff.

The 17-year-old from Bristol, who cannot be identified because of his age, appeared before a judge at Cardiff Crown Court.

He denied charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and unlawful wounding.

He also pleaded not guilty to joint charges of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life, possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear and violence and having a loaded shotgun in a public place.

All the offences are alleged to have taken place on 7 June.

He was remanded in youth detention for a trial to take place on 8 December.

It follows an incident in Clos Y Fynnon, Pontprennau, Cardiff, where a 15-year-old boy was shot.

The boy was taken to hospital but suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Co-defendant Ashley Corbin, 20, from Bristol, who was due to appear on Monday but was not present in court, will next appear on 1 August.
