There will be a change to the path route in a Bedworth park to allow work to continue around the building of the town's new activity hub.

Miner's Welfare Park will have its path, which runs from the rear car park at Bedworth Leisure Centre, closed from Monday 6 October.

The move is part of ongoing development works at the Bedworth Physical Activity Hub.

The local authority said construction site fencing will be extended at the same time to allow earth redistribution works and land forming to begin.

The park's main path from the car park running uphill and north into the rest of the park will remain open.

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough councillor Brady Hughes apologised for the change to the path network but said it was necessary.

She said: "We are grateful for your understanding and tolerance of occasional such changes as the works progress.

"We have worked with our construction partner to minimise impacts on park users and to maximise the availability of paths for visitors to the park.

"Work is progressing well on the new building, and the formation of the external areas will now start to take shape over the coming months, with the new skatepark due to be constructed during spring and summer next year."
