'Amazing grandad' dies in rush-hour crash

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car during rush hour.
Lancashire Police said the man, named as Malcolm Stewart Orme, 66, was hit by a Hyundai IX20 car at 17:00 GMT on Thursday in Padiham Road, Burnley.
The force said he "suffered serious injuries" and was pronounced dead in hospital. Police have appealed for witnesses or any video footage.
Sgt Simon Strickland said: "My thoughts first and foremost are with Malcolm's loved ones at this distressing time."
In a tribute to the 66-year-old garage owner, Mr Orme's family said: "Malc, aged 66, was a loving husband to Carol, dad to Kaylea, Nicola and Alex and an amazing grandad.
"He will be greatly missed by all who knew him."
