An alleged Islamic State supporter has appeared in court charged with sharing terrorist publications.

Abdullah Bellil, 29, from Southampton, is facing four charges - three of distributing terror documents and one of expressing an opinion in support of Islamic State, which is a proscribed organisation.

He was remanded into custody and will next appear at a plea and trial preparation hearing at Kingston Crown Court on 9 May.

Mrs Justice Cheema Grubb set a two-week trial from 1 December at the same court.

The alleged offences took place on dates between July 2023 and October 2024.

Bellil, of East Street, spoke to confirm his name and date of birth via videolink from HMP Wormwood Scrubs at the Old Bailey hearing on Friday.
