A tip is due to close for eight days while resurfacing work is carried out at the site.

Lichfield Recycling Centre on Trent Valley Road will close from 23 September until 1 October, Staffordshire County Council said.

It will reopen at 09:00 BST on 2 October.

During the closure, residents are advised to take their household waste to the authority's sites in Burntwood, Cannock or Burton-upon-Trent which will be open as usual.

Councillor Simon Tagg said the resurfacing work would make a difference to people using the site and thanked residents in advance for their patience.

The improvements at the Lichfield site were part of a wider five-year, £4.7m investment in the county’s 14 tips, the council said.
