The deadline for a consultation on an a revised neighbourhood plan in Surrey has been extended due to IT issues.

Tandridge District Council (TDC) said the deadline for its consultation on the Chaldon, Caterham and Whyteleafe Neighbourhood Plan (CCWNP) has been pushed back to 10 October.

It sets out proposals to deliver housing to meet local needs, reduce flood risks, improve travel options, safeguard green spaces, support businesses, and protect and enhance the area's character.

TDC said: "The plan will shape how the four parishes develop over the coming years and guide decisions on planning applications."

The current CCWNP, passed at referendum in May 2021, has been updated by an implementation group which consists of members from Caterham Hill, Caterham Valley, Chaldon and Whyteleafe parish and village councils.

After consultation, the plan will be sent to an external, independent examiner for consideration. The original deadline was 21 September.

If approved, it will go to a public vote in 2026.
