A man has been jailed for 18 months after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed at a community event in a park.

Thames Valley Police said the attack happened in Blackbird Leys Park, Oxford, at about 16:40 BST on 6 April.

The boy suffered serious injuries to his face, hands and buttocks.

Michael Oluyitan, 21, of Waynflete Road, Barton, previously pleaded guilty at Oxford Crown Court to inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.

Police brought in temporary stop-and-search powers following the attack, which was one of three stabbings in Blackbird Leys in a fortnight.
