Fifty homes have been left without power after a fire at a vacant workshop.

Four fire engines were at the scene of the blaze at its height on Boome Street in South Shore, Blackpool, at about 02:30 BST.

The upstairs and roof of the two-storey empty building was gutted by the fire, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said.

Electricity North West is working on restoring power to affected homes, while Boome Street and Abbey Road were closed to traffic.

There were no reports of any injuries and the fire remains under investigation, but is thought to have been accidental.
