Jersey students have been supporting the Movember campaign with a special race.

The annual month-long campaign raises awareness about issues facing men including mental health and prostate cancer.

Le Rocquier School has hosted several events to share these messages with students as well as a fundraising challenge called the Tache Dash which was a 1k race (0.62miles).

Stanley, 12, said "it was just amazing" and Emily, 11, added "when I was down near the finish, I started sprinting".

Chris is wearing a brown jacket and dark shirt is standing on a dirt path lined with greenery and wooden fencing, clapping hands. In the background, several children in white shirts and red shorts are running along the path toward a sports field. The scene appears to be part of an outdoor activity or race near school buildings under a partly cloudy sky.

The school hoped to raise about £2,000 for the Movember campaign through events like the Tache Dash.

Stanley said "we've learned about men having cancer", adding "I might need a bit of a rest" after winning the race.

Emily said: "I've been learning in assembly about what the men are going to do, like grow out their beards for Movember and why they're doing it".

The school has also hosted special bake sales, book clubs and football tournaments as part of this work.

Alicia and Logan are standing outdoors in front of a tall green metal fence. The background shows a grassy area, a clear blue sky with scattered clouds, and some distant buildings. Alicia is wearing a dark long-sleeve top with arms crossed, while Logan is dressed in a dark sweater over a collared shirt and tie.

Year 11 students Alicia, 15, and Logan, 16, have been supporting the work at the school for the Movember campaign.

Year 11 student Logan said: "We should really talk about it more, get rid of that stigma, as millions of men kill themselves, just from not talking up and having that outreach of being able to say I'm not okay."

He added: "We've had ex-staff members who have had cancer as well as others struggling with their mental health...it's been incredible seeing the school raising awareness."

Student Alicia, 15, said: "Everyone has their own personal struggles so I think it's really important as a society that we raise awareness to how younger people can face those struggles."

"I think Jersey's been doing a good job, our school's been doing a great job raising awareness and I think it should continue," she added.
