The fire service in Jersey is looking for more on-call firefighters.

Jersey Fire and Rescue Service said three taster sessions would be held in November for people "from all walks of life and backgrounds".

Bosses said sessions would be interactive with simulated firefighting exercises, and firefighters present to answer questions.

Taster sessions will take place at its headquarters on 16 November between 11:00 and 15:00 GMT, a female only session on 23 November and a final session on 26 November between 18:30 and 21:00.

On-call firefighters must meet fitness requirements and several other criteria such as being able to train on certain days.

The service said successful applicants would "play a part in strengthening and protecting our community".

Those interested have until 30 November to apply.
