A man suspected of stealing a vehicle was arrested after he was tracked to some bushes by a police dog.

The driver of a Toyota RAV4, which collided with a hedge, attempted to run away from officers after he failed to stop on Stifford Clays Road in Essex.

Police dog Kaiser led officers to the man who fled from across fields towards woodland.

A 22-year-old man from Grays, Thurrock, was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, dangerous driving, failing to stop, possession of a controlled Class B drug and drug driving. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
