Grant scheme opens for 2025 tourism events

Grant applications are open for event and activity providers looking for financial support for their plans in 2025.

The government funding, external is overseen by the Guernsey Tourism Management Board as part of its Tourism Framework, external to boost the visitor economy in the island.

Funding is open to events taking place between January 2025 and April 2026, with preference given to proposals outside the peek season and around the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day in May.

Event organisers have until 30 October to apply, external for funding.

Chair of the Tourism Management Board Hannah Beacom said it was a great opportunity for some fresh ideas to be put forward.

"Weighting will be given to proposals that would increase bed nights and spend in the shoulder months of the traditional season," she said.

"With the island heading towards the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day, the board will welcome events and activities that highlight our unique history and heritage throughout a year which marks such an important milestone."

The board said it was looking for submissions that enhance visitor experience, drive growth, promote economic development, encourage business opportunities and were sustainable.

Successful grant recipients would be required to provide twice-yearly updates and report to the board.

Applications of between £1,000 and £15,000 can be applied for and larger grants can be considered for "exceptional projects".
