Organisers of a hot air balloon fiesta in Shropshire have hailed the event's "night glow" component as a success, describing the atmosphere as "electric".
About 8,000 people were at a sold-out event in Telford Town Park on Friday night, with balloons tethered to the ground firing their burners as music entertained the crowds.
There were also other performances with a "glow" theme, including a light and drum show from the Sparc arts group.
Susan Wright, part of the events team, said despite high winds in recent days, the event had gone well.
The "night glow" was one of the few ticketed events, with most of the balloon fiesta weekend free.
A carnival, circus workshops and music performances are also planned for the bank holiday weekend, as well as hot air balloon displays, weather permitting.
