A motorcyclist has died after crashing into a lamp-post in Barming near Maidstone on Christmas Eve.

His white Honda 125cc bike crashed near the Bull Inn on Tonbridge Road at about 14:25 GMT, Kent Police said.

The man, aged in his 40s, was airlifted to a London hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Police appealed for witnesses and for the public to check CCTV and dashcam footage.

Both Kent Police officers and South East Coast Ambulance attended the scene.

The man's next of kin has been informed.
