A drug dealer who was found with a £1,200 haul of ketamine at his home has been jailed for 13 months.

Police discovered 78g (2.8oz) of the Class B drug in nine bags when they raided the home of Elliot Cook, 23, in Gosforth in January 2023, Newcastle Crown Court heard.

A search of his phone revealed he had been dealing the drug and offering to supply people with Class A MDMA since he was 17 years old.

Cook, of Glanton Wynd, admitted being concerned in the supply of Class A and B drugs.

Assistant judge advocate general Thomas Mitchell said he could not be sure Cook had been dealing drugs for the entire four and half years between the messages and the police raid, but he had clearly decided to return to the illegal trade.
