A dispersal order has been issued by police over "repeated issues" with begging and drug-related shoplifting.

Nottinghamshire Police confirmed the order had been implemented in the Sherwood and Carrington area at 15:00 GMT on Thursday.

The order, which lasts for 48 hours, gives officers and PCSOs the power to issue a notice that instructs an individual to leave the area and not return for 48 hours, otherwise, they will be arrested.

The force said the order was authorised due to ongoing reports from the public and urged anyone to contact them to report anti-social behaviour.

The dispersal area includes the A60 from Magdala Road to Elmswood Gardens.

It also includes Hucknall Road from its junction with the A60 to where it meets Haydn Road.
