A serving Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with a series of sexual offences – including four counts of rape, the force said.

PC Robert Wing, who is suspended, was also charged with two counts of sexual assault by penetration and one count of sexual assault, the Met added.

The charges relate to alleged incidents that took place between 2013 and 2016 against the same alleged victim while the officer was off-duty.

The officer, who is attached to the Specialist Operations unit, is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

PC Wing was arrested on 1 March 2023 on suspicion of rape and immediately suspended from the force, the Met added.

Police said the Met's Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed.
