A hobby horse obstacle race is to be held as part of an event at a country house later this month.
Visitors to Sewerby Hall and Gardens near Bridlington have also been invited to take part in a dog agility contest with their pets as part of the Hobby Horse and Hounds Fun Day on 28 September.
Nick Coultish, executive member for culture, leisure and tourism at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said the event would bring "something new" to the venue.
''Whether people are wanting to come along and take part in the activities or simply enjoy the spectacle, this event will provide fun, laughter and a wonderful day out for all the family," he said.
Competitors can enter with their own hobby horse or borrow one on the day and they will be awarded a rosette when they have completed the course.
Entry for both events is £3 per person in addition to the standard admission price for the venue.
