A woman has died after a car overturned in a two-vehicle crash along the A5 in Great Wyrley, Staffordshire.

The crash happened in between Churchbridge roundabouts and the junction with the B4154 shortly before 23:30 GMT on Thursday.

Two men were taken to hospital with non-serious injuries and another man was treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries, said West Midlands Ambulance Service.

A spokesperson said: “On arrival, crews discovered two cars that had been in collision, one of which had overturned.”

They added: “From that car, a woman was found to be in a critical condition and already receiving basic life support from fire service colleagues.

“Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, it became apparent nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.”
