Man who died following stabbing is named by police

Police have named a 61-year-old man who died following a stabbing.

Hertfordshire Police was called to Walden End, Stevenage, at 23:53 BST on Wednesday.

The force said Peter Lynch was taken to hospital with suspected stab wounds and died later.

A 34-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder and has since been released on police bail.

Det Insp Lee Martin said: "Our thoughts are with Peter’s family at this very difficult time.

"I understand this may cause concern to the local community, but I’d like to reassure everyone that there is not believed to be any wider risk to the public."

He appealed for anyone who saw or heard anything, has dashcam footage, or witnessed anything, to get in touch.
