Suspected heroin and cannabis with a combined value of more than £11,000 has been seized by police.

Devon and Cornwall Police said officers searched two men in Ashburton, Devon after "noticing some suspicious behaviour" on Monday.

The officers then visited a nearby property and found a rucksack containing the suspected drugs along with other drug paraphernalia, mobile phones and sim cards.

Police said two local men aged 52 and 53 were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of heroin and possession of a controlled drugs. Both have been bailed, the force added.

An appeal for witnesses has been issued by police as part of an investigation.

The force has asked anyone with information to contact investigating officers or Crimestoppers.
