Police launch fresh bid to trace man missing for 18 months

Detectives have launched a fresh appeal to trace a man who has been missing for almost 18 months.

James Clacher, 55, from Lanarkshire, was last seen in the Airdrie area at about 16:00 on 30 May 2022.

His car was found at the Loch Long car park in Arrochar, Argyll, the followng day and he was formally reported missing.

Members of the public have been asked not to approach Mr Clacher, but to call police if they have any information.

He is described as 5ft 6in, of athletic build and shaved head.

Mr Clacher was last seen wearing khaki coloured trousers, a dark hooded jacket, dark t-shirt, dark baseball cap and dark coloured boots.

Insp Alex Clark said: “James has now been missing for over a year.

"Despite extensive police inquiries and searches by officers and our partners, he remains missing.”
